Christmas is when our little church shines brightest. The sanctuary becomes a Victorian village with falling snow, Moravian stars glow, and the whole community is invited in.
Each spring the sanctuary becomes an Easter Garden, with an empty tomb, a waterfall, and streams surrounded by flowers. Holy Week brings some of our most meaningful traditions:
Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, artist Elva Hurst has visited our sanctuary many times for her “chalk talks.” She draws with fluorescent chalk as she tells inspirational, historic, and holiday stories, and the pictures glow as they come to life.
Elva's life story became the 2026 independent film Elva – Art of Redemption, with Pastor Tim as a Mennonite bishop and Deacon Billy Bowen as a hospital chaplain. A portion of the proceeds from its Bedford Playhouse screening was set aside for the Cross River Meeting House restoration.
