Living to serve Him
Meet the people who lead and care for our church family.
Pastor Timothy C. Wagner
Pastor Tim, as he's known, is the spiritual leader of Croton Falls Community Church and has served this congregation for more than 30 years.
Before coming to Croton Falls, he served Lutheran, Methodist, Episcopal, and Presbyterian churches, and he brings that wide understanding of faith and worship to our ecumenical family. In 1993 he preached a “test drive” sermon at the nearby Cross River Baptist Church, and Croton Falls called him as pastor.
Pastor Tim is known for creative, innovative worship and seasonal celebrations. While his outlook is forward thinking, he holds fast to the centrality of Scripture and the Sacraments. He celebrates baptism, confirmation, marriage, healing, and funerals with a deep sense of pastoral care.
Alongside his ministry, he has worked as a facilities director at Columbia University, the Greenwich Family YMCA, and Westchester Reform Temple. He lives in the church parsonage and serves as chaplain of the Croton Falls Fire Department.
“A zoo is not a free-for-all, but a carefully crafted experience where you understand animals and creatures in a safe setting.”
All things Christmas, and much more
Pastor Tim's interests include Jewish-Christian relations, painting, gardening, and all things Christmas. For more than 20 years he has visited Central Moravian Church in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, to see its Christmas Putz. For his 30th anniversary he led our congregation in building a Moravian Putz of our own.
Those studies led him to embrace the Moravian precept that now guides our church life: “In essentials, unity; in non-essentials, liberty; and in all things, love.”
In 2026, Pastor Tim and Deacon Billy Bowen appeared in the independent film Elva – Art of Redemption, about artist and longtime friend of the church Elva Hurst. Pastor Tim played a Mennonite bishop.
Serving together
Deacon Billy Bowen
Deacon Billy championed the effort to save the Cross River 1791 Meeting House. He climbed the steeple to repair its long-silent 1856 bell, and he now leads the restoration. He also led our 2026 Easter sunrise service at the Meeting House.
The Church Council
Our church is governed by a Church Council made up of Trustees, Deacons, and Staff Parish Relations. Full and Affiliate Members may be called to serve. About membership.
